First-time applicants are now required to submit a postal ID application form, a Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-issued birth certificate, and a barangay certificate.Alternatively, a proof of address document such as an electricity, water, internet, or utility bill can be used.This initiative aims to make it easier for Filipinos to establish their identity, particularly for those seeking their first government-issued ID.The postal ID is widely accepted for various transactions, including opening bank accounts, applying for passports, and other important services.Processing fees are set at P550 for regular processing and P650 for rush processing.Applicants can apply at multiple PHLPost branches nationwide, with some locations offering same-day release of postal IDs.Postmaster General and CEO Maximo C.Sta.Maria III emphasized that the postal ID is designed to simplify identity verification for citizens, enhancing accessibility and convenience.This development reflects PHLPost's commitment to improving public services and reducing bureaucratic hurdles for everyday transactions.
