Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the formation of a high-powered task force led by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani to overhaul India's examination system.

The committee, comprising experts from technology, education, and logistics sectors, aims to address concerns over exam leaks and implement secure, transparent processes.

This follows widespread student protests against alleged paper leaks and the recent resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan amid the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests.

The task force will focus on revamping the National Testing Agency (NTA) exams, integrating advanced technology for leak-proof systems, and proposing immediate measures to safeguard upcoming tests.Modi emphasized that while fast-track courts for exam irregularities are being established, the task force's long-term goal is systemic reform.The move comes as the government prepares to introduce stricter penalties for paper leaks, including fines up to ₹10 crore.

The committee includes notable figures like former ISRO Chairman S Somnath and IIT Chennai Director V Kamakoti, signaling a multidisciplinary approach to education reforms.
