Unofficial results from the AJK elections in the Mirpur division indicate that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has secured victory in nine out of 13 constituencies.

The preliminary findings, released by the AJK Election Commission, highlight PML-N's dominance in key areas such as Dadyal, Khari Sharif, and Bhimber.The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) managed to win only four seats, including the strategic city of Mirpur.

The election process faced challenges including scuffles, violence, and allegations of rigging, with both parties accusing each other of electoral malpractice.The first phase of polling in Mirpur division concluded on Monday, with subsequent phases scheduled for August 2 and August 10 in other divisions.

The results underscore PML-N's strong presence in the region, though the PPP's performance suggests lingering support for alternative political narratives.
