ACT Police investigate suspicious house fire in Richardson that left home uninhabitable
Police in Victoria are investigating an incident involving North Melbourne AFL draftee Lachy Dovaston following reports of late-night misconduct at a shopping centre car park in Rowville.
According to police statements, officers were called to Stud Park shopping centre on 28 May after reports that occupants of two vehicles were throwing eggs into the car park area at around 11pm on Thursday night.Authorities confirmed that Dovaston was present with a group of individuals during the incident.
While it has been reported that the group missed any intended targets and no vehicles or people were struck by the eggs, police are continuing to question those involved to determine the intent and circumstances behind the behaviour.
A spokesperson confirmed that a 19-year-old Bayswater man has already been spoken to as part of the ongoing investigation, with further inquiries continuing.North Melbourne Football Club is aware of the situation but has chosen not to provide comment at this stage. The matter comes at a time when Dovaston, who was selected with pick No.16 in last year’s AFL draft, is in his debut season. He has played six AFL games so far, contributing three goals, and has also added five goals across three VFL appearances. The timing of the incident coincides with a quieter period for the club, which is on a bye across both AFL and VFL fixtures this weekend.Dovaston is also understood to be celebrating his 19th birthday on the Friday following the incident.Police have emphasised that the investigation remains ongoing and no charges have yet been confirmed.
