The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) confirmed that three suspects arrested in connection with the killing of Dr.Akash Kumar, a doctor at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), died in an exchange of fire with their accomplices.The incident occurred during a raid in Ahmed Brohi Goth, where police were attempting to locate the suspects' accomplices.

The suspects, along with a police official, were injured in the firefight and transported to JPMC, but all three succumbed to their injuries en route.Dr.Kumar was killed on July 13 when robbers intercepted his vehicle near Teen Talwar, stealing approximately Rs2 million.The police arrested three suspects on July 14 after a pursuit, seizing weapons and a vehicle with fake registration plates.The suspects confessed to the crime, revealing they had an insider in the first bank who alerted them about Dr.Kumar's cash withdrawal.The case highlights ongoing concerns about law and order in Karachi, with the medical community condemning the attack.Legal proceedings are underway, and further raids are planned to arrest remaining accomplices.
