Prince Harry and Baroness Lawrence have launched a scathing critique of the High Court judge who ruled against them in their legal battle against the Daily Mail.

In a 374-word statement, they accused Mr Justice Nicklin of displaying 'one rule for newspapers and another for claimants', arguing that his ruling represented a 'complete reversal' of previous judicial approaches to hacking allegations.

The pair claimed the judge's findings ignored evidence of widespread unlawful information gathering by private investigators, dismissing their claims as an 'obvious whitewash'.

They highlighted inconsistencies in the court's treatment of similar cases against other media outlets, including the Daily Mirror, which the judge had previously represented.

Despite over 40 Daily Mail journalists testifying to their credibility, Harry maintained that the court 'uncritically believed' the newspaper's denials.

The ruling, which exonerated the Daily Mail of wrongdoing, was met with criticism from Harry, who described it as a 'shocking' and 'totally unwarranted' exoneration.

The statement comes days after the judge's landmark decision, with Harry also appearing relaxed at the Invictus Games, where he reiterated his commitment to supporting veterans.The case has sparked broader debates about media ethics and judicial impartiality in high-profile legal battles.
