Punjab Cabinet approves plan to regularise 65,000 government workers, ending contractual employment
The Rajasthan government has launched a stringent anti-corruption drive, resulting in the dismissal of 20 officials and suspension of 332 others.Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has emphasised that public service must not be exploited for personal gain or neglected duties.Officials from several departments, including medical, education, mining, and public works, have been affected.
The government has also withheld pensions for 17 retired personnel involved in misconduct, indicating that accountability extends beyond active service.Over 100 cases have received prosecution sanctions, and investigations are ongoing in 577 cases.This proactive measure is intended to improve transparency and ensure that government servants uphold their responsibilities with integrity.
The chief minister has made it clear that any official failing to serve the public honestly will face strict consequences, reflecting a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption and administrative negligence.
