Representative Robert Garcia, the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, criticized former Attorney General Pam Bondi during an appearance on MS NOW, accusing her of attempting to shift responsibility for problems in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation onto her former deputy, Todd Blanche.

The discussion followed Bondi's recent testimony, in which she rejected claims that she was blaming Blanche for shortcomings in the investigation while simultaneously emphasizing that he managed the inquiry and oversaw key decisions.

Garcia argued that Bondi repeatedly referenced Blanche during her testimony and effectively assigned responsibility to him for numerous issues related to the handling of the Epstein case.

According to Garcia, Bondi cited Blanche's role in managing redactions and other aspects of the investigation while avoiding accountability for controversial decisions herself.

He also criticized her refusal to accept responsibility for the prison transfer arrangement involving Ghislaine Maxwell, a longtime associate of Epstein.

The California congressman suggested that if lawmakers genuinely want answers about the investigation, they should question Blanche directly because he would likely have firsthand knowledge of the decisions that were made.

Garcia further expressed frustration with how congressional Republicans handled Maxwell's interview, noting that they declined to videotape the deposition and did not place her under oath.

He argued that these decisions limited transparency and made it more difficult for the public and lawmakers to assess the credibility of the information provided.Garcia concluded by questioning Bondi's trustworthiness and stating that he believed she had not been honest with the committee.
