A Russian frigate, the Neustrashimy, conducted a live-fire artillery exercise approximately 40 nautical miles south of Plymouth, England, on Monday.The operation, lasting around 30 minutes, was monitored by the Royal Navy and a French military aircraft.The vessel had previously informed UK authorities of its intentions, with the Royal Navy offshore patrol vessel HMS Tyne tracking its movements.

This incident follows a pattern of Russian naval activity in international waters, including previous encounters where British crews shadowed the Neustrashimy during its passage through the North Sea and English Channel.

Last month, the UK Navy reported an unbroken three-month surveillance operation on Russian warships, including an incident where a frigate fired a warning shot at a British yacht near the Isle of Wight.
