Tanzania Adapts Ford Rangers and Mercedes Trucks for Dual Road and Railway Use on SGR
A Russian-developed messaging application known as Max has been officially launched in Tanzania as part of its broader expansion strategy across Africa.
The launch took place in Dar es Salaam during an event linked to an education exhibition organised for students planning to study in Russia at the Russian House.
Speaking at the event, Russian House official Boniface Assenga explained that the platform is designed to provide an all-in-one communication solution combining text messaging, voice and video calls, file sharing, group communication, and online conferencing tools.
According to developers, Max aims to simplify digital communication by bringing multiple services into one application, allowing users to interact more efficiently without switching between different platforms.
The app reportedly already has more than 110 million registered users globally, with around seven million users outside Russia and over 80 million active users daily, showing its significant international reach.
The application has already been rolled out in selected regions including parts of Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, and it supports registration using local mobile numbers, making it easier for users in different countries, including Tanzania, to join. One of its key features is its ability to work well even in areas with weak internet connectivity.
Its NoLACE technology is said to improve call quality by reducing background noise, maintaining clearer voice communication, and restoring connections after temporary network disruptions.
Local stakeholders, including business leaders such as Kapilima Hassan of Kapi7 Tours & Safaris Limited, described the app as a practical tool for both business and personal communication.
The launch reflects growing interest in digital communication platforms in Tanzania and highlights increasing tech cooperation and digital engagement between Russia and African markets.
