President William Ruto has approved a series of changes to leadership positions in several state corporations, with former Bumula Member of Parliament Mwambu Mabonga appointed as the new non-executive chairperson of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).The changes were announced through a gazette notice outlining new appointments and adjustments across different government agencies.At EPRA, Faith Akiru Kuno was also appointed as a board member, replacing Jennipher Nawoi Long'or.Engineer Gilbert Maluki will continue serving as the non-executive chairperson of the National Irrigation Authority Board.

The notice also revoked Thuo Mathenge’s appointment as chairperson of the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO), although a replacement was not named.Other appointments affected key sectors including regulation, training, water, pensions, health, agriculture, forestry and energy.

Adan Haji Ali was appointed to head the Public Benefit Organisations Regulatory Authority, while David Musila was named chairperson of the National Industrial Training Board.

Johnson Osoi will lead the Local Authorities Provident Fund Board, and Njage Makanga was appointed chairperson of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency.

Additional board members were appointed to institutions such as the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation, Kenya Forestry Research Institute, Kenya Medical Supplies Authority, NACADA and the Retirement Benefits Authority.The appointments indicate a broad restructuring of state corporation leadership as the government continues to make changes in public institutions.
