The South Africa Football Association (Safa) has reportedly offered coach Hugo Broos a one-year contract extension, sparking discussions about his future.

Legendary Bafana Bafana defender Mark Fish expressed support for Safa’s decision, stating that retaining Broos makes sense given the upcoming Pamoja Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania starting in September.

Fish argued that Broos’ experience from the 2026 World Cup, where Bafana reached the knockout phase for the first time, could boost the team’s chances of winning Afcon.
