Pakistan's Operation Shaban targets 117 terrorists in Balochistan since July 5
According to security sources, the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and Balochistan police are carrying out Operation Shaban in Balochistan.In the latest action, three more India-backed terrorists have been killed, bringing the total number of militants eliminated in this operation to 88.The operation started after the attack on Mangi Dam police station in Ziarat.Security forces are using both aerial and ground actions to target militant hideouts across the province.Since July 5, a total of 126 militants have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations in Balochistan.The sources said the operation will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
A large quantity of weapons including submachine guns, rocket launchers, mobile phones, and other equipment was also recovered from the killed militants.Earlier, at least 42 people including security personnel and civilians were martyred in three terrorist attacks in the province.
ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had earlier stated that police personnel showed bravery during the initial attack, killing 15 militants while nine police embraced martyrdom.Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan after the Afghan Taliban took power in 2021.In response, Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq targeting hideouts across the border.The government remains committed to eliminating terrorism from the country with full determination.This operation shows the strong resolve of security forces to maintain peace and stability in Balochistan.
