Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Tank district successfully neutralized 12 militants linked to India-backed Fitna al-Khawarij following a terrorist attack on a joint police checkpost.The attack, which occurred between July 23-24, involved militants attempting to breach the checkpost's security.

Despite their initial failure, the attackers later rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall, causing severe damage and resulting in the martyrdom of 15 individuals, including 12 military personnel, two policemen, and one ex-forest department official.The military's media wing confirmed ongoing sanitization operations to eliminate remaining threats.The operation is part of the 'Azm-e-Istehkam' campaign aimed at combating foreign-sponsored terrorism.The incident underscores the persistent threat of cross-border terrorism and the resolve of security forces to safeguard national security.
