Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has announced a major rally in Bungoma to outline the Linda Mwananchi movement's direction ahead of the 2027 polls.The announcement came during the burial of MP Jack Wamboka's brother, Eric Wamboka, where Sifuna directly challenged MP Didmus Barasa's gubernatorial ambitions.

Sifuna accused Barasa of failing to negotiate on behalf of residents during the Nzoia Sugar Company sale and criticized his tactics of using money to woo voters.He also condemned Barasa for passing oppressive bills while distributing handouts, calling him a 'liar' who manipulates public opinion.

Barasa defended his actions, claiming the handouts were acts of generosity, but was heckled and forced to leave the funeral after accusing Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi of opportunism.

Sifuna urged opposition leaders to unite under Linda Mwananchi to drive political change, promising a major rally in July involving clergy, youth, women, and teachers.The event highlights growing tensions between key Kenyan politicians ahead of upcoming elections.
