Robin Padilla faces legal complaint over Bato dela Rosa’s escape; Estrada charged in flood control case
Senator Jinggoy Estrada is set to post bail after the Sandiganbayan issued an arrest warrant against him for alleged graft related to kickbacks in flood control projects.
Estrada emphasized that he is legally exercising his right to post bail and is submitting himself to the jurisdiction of the Sandiganbayan, insisting that the accusations against him are baseless.The warrant of arrest and hold departure order also names former Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan.Bail for each accused has been set at P90,000.Estrada expressed his trust in the judicial process, hoping for fair treatment, due process, and an impartial trial.In addition to the graft charges, Estrada faces a non-bailable plunder case involving alleged P573 million kickbacks from infrastructure projects.Both Estrada and Bonoan have separate cases involving graft and plunder under the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division.Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla noted that a non-bailable arrest warrant is expected from the Fifth Division on Monday.
