Senior public service HR officials to meet in Dodoma to strengthen administration and digital reform

The Government of Tanzania is preparing to host a three-day high-level meeting in Dodoma bringing together senior human resource and administration officials from across the public sector.

The meeting, scheduled from June 1 to June 3 at Mabele Hall, will gather directors and departmental heads from ministries, government agencies, regional secretariats, local government authorities, and other public institutions.

The main objective of the gathering is to strengthen coordination, improve efficiency, and modernize public service delivery in line with Tanzania’s long-term Vision 2050 development agenda.

The event will be officially opened by the Minister of State in the President’s Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance, Ridhiwani Jakaya Kikwete.

Permanent Secretary Juma Mkomi highlighted that this annual forum provides an important platform for sharing experiences, identifying challenges, and developing joint strategies to improve human resource management and administrative performance across the public sector.

The meeting will focus on creating practical solutions that can be applied across government institutions to enhance accountability and service delivery.A key area of discussion will be the use of digital systems such as e-Uhamisho, e-Watumishi, e-Utendaji, e-Mrejesho, and HR assessment platforms.

These systems are part of the government’s broader digital transformation agenda aimed at reducing bureaucracy, improving transparency, and increasing efficiency in public administration.Participants will also review progress, challenges, and receive directives on key administrative issues affecting public servants.All heads of HR and administration departments are required to attend in person, emphasizing the importance of the meeting.Participants must also complete registration through the TSMS system and collect identification cards before the official opening.The government says the reforms discussed are essential for aligning public service operations with national development goals under Vision 2050.
