The Sindh government has officially declared Wednesday, July 29, as a public holiday to commemorate the annual urs of the revered Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

This decision, announced through a notification shared by the Sindh Information Department on social media platform X, applies to all government offices, autonomous bodies, and local councils across the province, excluding essential services.The urs, a significant cultural and religious event, is held every year at Bhit Shah, where Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is buried.The three-day celebration, starting from Safar 14, attracts thousands of devotees and scholars who gather to honor his legacy.
