South African authorities have intercepted contraband worth a total of R9 million and stolen vehicles during June as part of Operation Corona.The majority of the seized drugs (R2.9 million) were recovered in Limpopo along the border with Zimbabwe, marking an increase from May's R787,000 seizure.Soldiers also confiscated goods valued at over R1 million in KwaZulu-Natal, bordering Eswatini and Mozambique.The operation resulted in the apprehension of 521 undocumented foreign nationals, with Mozambicans comprising the largest group (207 individuals).Joint Operations reports indicate that 76 individuals stopped for questioning were wanted for crimes, with 52 detained at the KwaZulu-Natal border.The total value of contraband seized in June reached R4.59 million, surpassing May's figures.These actions highlight South Africa's ongoing efforts to combat cross-border crime and smuggling along its six land borders.
