South Air Launches Inaugural Flights from Karachi to Quetta and Islamabad, Enhancing Domestic Connectivity

South Air, a new private airline, has commenced its inaugural flights from Karachi to Quetta via Turbat and to Islamabad via Bahawalpur, as confirmed by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

The PAA highlighted that these flights strengthen Pakistan’s domestic air connectivity, offering passengers enhanced travel options and improved regional links.Initially, the airline will operate one weekly flight on the Karachi-Quetta route and three weekly flights on the Karachi-Islamabad route.

Future expansion plans include additional routes to Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Gwadar, which could boost tourism, trade, and travel convenience. The PAA emphasized that these services will promote economic growth by integrating remote regions into the national transport network.South Air’s successful trial flight to Gwadar, a strategic port city, underscores its focus on connecting maritime and air transport hubs.

The airline also aims to link Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan and Chitral with other parts of the country, further enhancing regional connectivity.

This development marks a significant step in Pakistan’s aviation sector, addressing long-standing gaps in domestic flight services and supporting infrastructure development in underdeveloped regions.
