SpaceX has shifted its focus from Mars to lunar and orbital data centers, launching the Starmind project with plans for 100,000 Starlink satellites.The initiative, now rebranded as Starmind AI1, features satellites with 120-150 kilovatt capacity, 70-meter solar panels, and advanced cooling systems.These satellites will operate in polar heliosynchronous orbits, connected via lasers, and powered by solar energy.The project aims to leverage orbital data centers for AI processing, with satellites manufactured at Gigasat in Texas.

SpaceX's Gen3 Starlink satellites, approved by the FCC, will operate in 320-480 km orbits, using new frequency bands for increased data throughput.

While the project promises technological advancement, critics warn of the environmental impact on the night sky and the need for regulatory oversight.
