Starz has officially approved the next chapter of the successful Power franchise, announcing the greenlight of 'Power: Legacy', an eight-episode series that will continue the stories of fan-favorite characters Tommy Egan and Tariq St.Patrick.Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr.will reprise their respective roles, bringing together two of the franchise’s most recognizable figures in a new storyline set in present-day New York City.

The series follows the events of the finale of 'Power Book IV: Force', with Tommy returning to New York and joining forces with Tariq as they attempt to establish their influence and expand their power within the city’s criminal landscape.

The project had been reported to be in development approximately a year earlier, and its official approval confirms Starz’s continued investment in the Power universe.'Power: Legacy' will be the fifth television series within the franchise.Gary Lennon will serve as showrunner and executive producer, while also co-writing the pilot episode alongside Kendra Chapman Davis.

In statements released with the announcement, Lennon expressed enthusiasm about continuing the stories of Tommy and Tariq and exploring the challenges of their partnership.

Executive producer Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson also highlighted the significance of reuniting the two characters, describing the project as one of the franchise’s biggest developments and noting that fans have long anticipated seeing them work together again.

The announcement further demonstrates the ongoing expansion of the Power universe, which also includes the upcoming prequel series 'Power: Origins'.
