Ryan Fournier, the co-founder and chairman of the conservative political organization Students for Trump, was arrested in Washington, D.C., and charged with domestic violence-related offenses following an alleged assault incident.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Fournier faces charges of simple assault and attempted threats to do bodily harm after police responded to an incident at the Apartments at CityCenter on Monday night.Authorities stated that Fournier allegedly assaulted a woman he had reportedly been dating for approximately two months.Police affidavits claim the altercation occurred after the woman attempted to wake Fournier while he was allegedly intoxicated.Investigators said Fournier struck the woman multiple times in the face with a closed fist.

Witnesses reportedly heard Fournier making violent threats, including statements about crushing the victim’s head with a lamp and asking whether she wanted to die.The victim allegedly fled to a bathroom while witnesses contacted authorities.Law enforcement officials determined Fournier was the primary aggressor based on interviews with the victim and two witnesses.

Fournier pleaded not guilty during an initial court appearance and was ordered to avoid contact with the alleged victim until a scheduled court hearing on July 7.The arrest marks the second time in recent years that Fournier has faced assault-related allegations.In November 2023, he was arrested in North Carolina after being accused of striking a former girlfriend with a pistol.Those earlier charges were eventually dropped.

The latest case has drawn renewed public attention because of Fournier’s role in conservative political activism and his connection to the pro-Trump student organization.
