Suki Waterhouse credits ‘Daisy Jones And The Six’ and personal life for renewed music career focus

Suki Waterhouse has spoken about how her role in the television series ‘Daisy Jones And The Six’ played a significant part in encouraging her to take her music career more seriously. In the show, she portrayed keyboardist Karen Sirko in a fictional 1970s rock band narrative inspired by the story of Fleetwood Mac.

Although she had previously released singles, she explained that the experience of learning piano intensively for the role deepened her connection to music.

When production was disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she found herself back in London with time and creative space to further develop her musical ambitions.

During this period, Waterhouse began working more seriously towards creating her debut album, which eventually became ‘I Can’t Let Go’, released in 2022.

She described this time as pivotal, as it gave her access to new skills and the motivation to turn music from a side pursuit into a central focus of her artistic career. She is now preparing to release her third studio album, ‘Loveland’, scheduled for 10 July. The lead single, ‘Back in Love’, is influenced in part by her relationship with actor Robert Pattinson, with whom she has recently had a child.

Waterhouse explained that the song reflects a renewed sense of confidence and emotional stability, as well as the process of building a new phase in her long-term relationship. She emphasised that the inspiration came from both personal growth and appreciation for the continuity of her partnership.

Alongside the album release, Waterhouse is set to perform at major festivals, including Lollapalooza and All Things Go, marking a busy period in her evolving music career.
