The Environment Ministry invited submissions from stakeholders, including environmentalists, mining lease holders, and local communities, emphasizing the need for documentary evidence.Concerns about the committee's neutrality persist due to its composition of ex-government officers.The committee, headed by Kanchan Devi, must submit its report by August 31.

Special invitees include academics from reputed institutions, while the Environment Ministry is directed to appoint a Director-level Member Secretary.Critics argue the committee's structure compromises impartiality, as the head reports directly to the Environment Ministry.This initiative aims to address biodiversity challenges linked to the Aravalli region's ecological significance.
