Tanzania prepares for major continental events to boost infrastructure and investment

Tanzania is intensifying preparations to host two significant continental events: the Africa50 General Shareholders’ Meeting and the Infra for Africa Forum, scheduled for August 5-6, 2026, at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam.

The government has prioritized logistical and technical readiness to ensure the events, which will attract over 1,200 delegates from Africa and the international community, proceed smoothly. These gatherings aim to address infrastructure development and financing, positioning Tanzania as a regional hub for trade and investment.

The national organizing committee, led by Rished Bade and Rose Kitandula, has reviewed preparations, emphasizing the need to complete tasks on schedule.

The events align with Tanzania’s Fourth Five-Year Development Plan and National Development Vision 2050, seeking to attract foreign investment and stimulate private sector participation.

Africa50, a pan-African infrastructure platform, and the Infra for Africa Forum will facilitate dialogue and partnerships to unlock capital for critical projects across the continent.
