The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has unveiled new strategies to meet an ambitious revenue collection target of 41.830 trillion shillings for the 2026/2027 financial year. This follows a comprehensive performance review that assessed achievements and identified areas for strengthening taxpayer engagement.

The five-day meeting brought together key stakeholders to evaluate current strategies and develop new approaches to enhance revenue mobilization and improve taxpayer services across Tanzania.

TRA Board Chairman Uledi Mussa emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relationships with taxpayers, praising the organization's exceptional performance in both collection and service delivery.

Commissioner General Yusuph Mwenda highlighted that TRA's capacity has nearly doubled since the current administration took office, from 21 trillion to 41.830 trillion shillings annually.

The Authority plans to enhance taxpayer support mechanisms, including expanding outreach programs and maintaining the Special Business Facilitation Desk.
