National Resources and Tourism Minister Dr Ashatu Kijaji has directed Tanzania National Parks (Tanapa) Conservation Commissioner Mr Massana Mwishawa to enforce strict discipline among conservation officers and rangers, warning against corruption and actions that damage Tanapa's reputation.The directive came during Mwishawa's swearing-in ceremony at Tanapa headquarters in Arusha.Kijaji emphasized the need for officers to adhere to laws, regulations, and public service ethics while safeguarding their welfare.

She highlighted Tanapa's critical role in protecting biodiversity, fighting poaching, and managing national resources, stressing that discipline, integrity, and professionalism are vital for organizational success.The minister also outlined plans to improve employee housing, provide better equipment, and strengthen healthcare services.

Mwishawa pledged to focus on employee welfare, revenue collection, and expanding tourism infrastructure ahead of major events like the IPU conference and Afcon 2027.The board chairman expressed confidence in Mwishawa's leadership, urging collaboration and teamwork for institutional success.
