Tanzania’s Ambassador to Malawi, Agnes Kayola, has called on Tanzanian nationals residing in the neighboring country to maintain unity and uphold local laws while strengthening their collective presence to protect Tanzania’s reputation and leverage economic opportunities.

During a meeting with the Tanzanian diaspora in Mzuzu, Ambassador Kayola emphasized the importance of lawful conduct and harmonious relationships between Tanzanians and their Malawian hosts.

She highlighted the diaspora’s role in supporting Tanzania’s economic development through remittances, investments, and skills transfer, aligning with national strategies like Tanzania’s Development Vision 2050.

The envoy also urged community leaders to register Tanzanians in Malawi on the Diaspora Digital Hub (DDH) platform to improve government outreach and service delivery.

This initiative reflects broader efforts by African nations to engage diaspora communities effectively through technology, reducing bureaucratic barriers and enhancing support for citizens abroad.
