The Maccabees, the reunited indie band, debuted their new track 'Ballad Of So Long' during an intimate performance at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on July 6, 2026.

The song, described as a warm and slow-burner with twinkling guitar motifs and emotionally charged vocals from Orlando Weeks, was introduced to the crowd as a new addition to their repertoire.This marked one of two unreleased tracks teased by the band ahead of their summer tour, alongside another song titled 'She'.The setlist featured fan favourites such as 'Love You Better' and 'Kamakura', alongside the new material.Weeks expressed enthusiasm about the band’s reunion, highlighting the joy of reconnecting with fans and the potential for future music.The performance was part of a series of warm-up shows before their larger outdoor tour dates, including stops in Newcastle, London, and Bristol.

Weeks also mentioned the challenges of creating new music while living in Lisbon but noted that the tour provided motivation to revive their creative process.
