Three men accused of murdering journalist Lyra McKee in Northern Ireland in 2019 were found not guilty in a lengthy trial.The 29-year-old author died after being shot near police vehicles in the Creggan area of Londonderry.
The prosecution argued the defendants accompanied a lone gunman and encouraged the attack, citing footage from an MTV camera crew that captured conversations with the accused.However, the MTV crew had left the scene before the shooting.The defense claimed much of the prosecution's case relied on speculation.The non-jury trial, which lasted over 18 months, ended with the acquittal of Peter Cavanagh, Jordan Gareth Devine, and Paul McIntyre.
