Three children who went missing in Lamboni Village, Lugoba Ward, Chalinze District, Coast Region, were discovered dead inside an abandoned silver Toyota Carina parked outside a residential property.The children, Masoud Mwema (9), Mikidadi Halfani (4), and Murath Mbaraka (4), were identified by police as residents of the village.Their parents reported them missing on July 9, 2026, prompting an immediate search by the Coast Regional Police Commander, Salim Morcase.The bodies were found by Lilahi Mgaza (19), a resident of Lugoba, at around 1:30am on July 10, 2026, while inspecting abandoned vehicles.The vehicle's doors and windows were closed at the time of discovery.The bodies were taken to Msoga Hospital for post-mortem examinations as investigations into the cause of death continue.Morcase urged residents to remain calm and emphasized the importance of parental supervision to ensure children's safety.The incident has raised concerns about child safety in the region and the need for community vigilance.
