Tinubu Commissions Health and Education Projects Across Nigeria, Promises Better Healthcare

On Friday, President Bola Tinubu officially commissioned a series of new health and education facilities across all six geopolitical zones to mark the third anniversary of his administration.

The projects include specialist hospitals, primary healthcare centres, emergency ambulance fleets, polio emergency operations centres, a mental health facility in Maiduguri, and education infrastructure across multiple tertiary institutions.In Abuja, he virtually opened the Bola Tinubu Specialist Complex, equipped with VIP wards, theatres, labs, and specialized departments.The National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System fleet was launched to serve rural and riverine communities under the SAVEMAMA programme.Tinubu also flagged off Compressed Natural Gas ambulances to cut fuel costs and improve patient referrals across federal hospitals.In the North-West, polio centres in Kano, Katsina, and Sokoto were upgraded.Primary healthcare centres in Kano and Delta were also commissioned under the IMPACT programme.In the South-West, the Lagos Immunisation Supply Chain Hub was launched.

On the education front, projects included new science complexes, hostels, and administration buildings in Nasarawa, Kaduna, Jigawa, and Bauchi, aiming to improve classroom capacity, technical training, and research.

Tinubu emphasised that investments in education and healthcare today will determine the future quality of Nigeria's workforce and citizens’ wellbeing.These initiatives mark the largest single-day commissioning of federal health investments in Nigeria's history.
