Tom Coll, drummer of Fontaines D.C., has launched Inis Records, an independent label and record store dedicated exclusively to Irish music.The initiative, co-founded by Coll, Richter Collective’s Michael Roe, and Faction Records’ Ken Allen, aims to support emerging and established Irish artists by releasing new music, reissues, and overlooked records.

The accompanying online store will stock Irish music across genres and eras, while offering distribution and behind-the-scenes services for independent labels.

Coll emphasized the importance of creating a robust Irish music infrastructure, stating, 'Inis Records is about providing an independent label infrastructure in Ireland, giving Irish music a platform to grow.

' The label will debut with a reissue of The Fatima Mansions’ 1989 album 'Against Nature' and plans to release a traditional Irish music compilation and showband recordings curated by Charles Hendy.Roe highlighted the need for local infrastructure, noting, 'We hope Inis Records can help build a stronger independent music infrastructure here.' The label also invites artists without distribution to submit physical releases.Inis Records will feature artists like Fontaines D.C., Enya, and Bicep, while Coll and Fontaines bandmate Carlos O’Connell are working on projects with Film Noir and the Peaky Blinders soundtrack.Fontaines D.C.is preparing their next album and will perform new material at festivals this summer.
