Tom Morello, guitarist of Rage Against The Machine, has launched the Mary Morello Memorial Project to honor his late mother, who passed away at the age of 102.

The initiative encourages people to support organizations that aligned with Mary's lifelong activism, including the UFW Foundation, Doctors Without Borders, and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

Morello emphasized the importance of 'caring, service, and action,' urging individuals to engage in direct activism before October 1st, which would have been Mary’s 103rd birthday.

The project reflects Mary’s legacy as a teacher and activist who opposed Jim Crow laws, supported anti-colonial movements, and fought against apartheid.Her influence shaped Morello’s political consciousness and music.The memorial also invites participants to share their efforts on social media, fostering a community dedicated to peace, equality, and justice.This tribute underscores the intersection of personal legacy and global activism, highlighting how Mary’s values continue to inspire her son’s work.
