A tragic boating accident occurred at Saifullah Lake on the Swat River when a tourist boat capsized, resulting in the deaths of seven people and leaving two others rescued alive.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, emergency teams responded immediately after receiving information about the incident and launched a search and rescue operation at the site.
Initially, district administration reports suggested that five bodies had been recovered while four tourists were still missing, but later updates confirmed that a total of seven bodies were retrieved from the lake and shifted to Kalam Hospital for further formalities.Two tourists were successfully rescued during the operation and also moved to hospital for medical assistance.
Authorities stated that ambulances and rescue personnel were dispatched promptly to the scene to assist in recovery efforts and provide emergency support.However, officials have not yet disclosed detailed circumstances that led to the boat overturning.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns about tourist safety in the Swat region, particularly during the busy summer season when lakes and rivers attract a large number of visitors.
