A devastating fire broke out at a pub in Bangkok, Thailand, early on Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of at least 27 people.The incident, which occurred at the Na Ladprao pub (also known as Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao), was reported around midnight local time.

Footage shared by first responders shows the scene of the disaster, with thick black smoke billowing from the front door and people desperately trying to flee.Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed the death toll and stated that several injured individuals were taken to hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest that a circuit breaker near the stage caught fire, leading to an explosion and rapid spread of smoke.Many victims were found in the restrooms at the back of the pub.Firefighters took approximately half an hour to control the blaze, leaving behind charred tables, chairs, and a damaged interior.

This tragedy follows similar incidents in Thailand's history, including a 2022 fire at a music pub that killed 14 people and the 2009 New Year's Eve blaze at the Santika nightclub, which claimed 66 lives.Authorities are urging improved fire safety measures to prevent such disasters in the future.
