The Tripura Police have begun a forensic analysis of the electronic devices used by the deceased Deputy Inspector General (DGP) Anurag Dhankar, who was found hanging in his office on Monday.

The investigation officer Subhrajit Deb confirmed that all gadgets including mobile phones, laptops, and computers were seized for analysis at the State Forensic Science Laboratory.The probe aims to determine if the death was a suicide or an unnatural act, with officials noting it could take up to one and a half months.

Assistant Inspector General Prabir Majumder reported that Dhankar had instructed staff not to allow visitors until 11 am, leading to his body being discovered after he failed to return from a meeting.Opposition leader Jitendra Chaudhury demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident, highlighting concerns about the DGP's mental state.The Tripura High Court's lawyer Somik Deb urged an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.Dhankar's body was flown to Delhi for last rites in his native village of Baraut.
