Government Clarifies There Is No Open NYOTA Phase Two Business Support Application
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has warned teachers across Kenya to disregard a fake notice circulating online that falsely claims a July 2026 salary increment.
The forged document, dated July 16, 2026, falsely states that the second phase of the 2021-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) salary review is being implemented. It also alleges the government allocated KSh 8.4 billion for salary adjustments, promotions, and hiring of Junior Secondary School teachers. However, TSC has categorically dismissed the document as fake, urging teachers to rely only on official communications. The fake notice claims the increment will not appear in July payrolls but will be paid in August with arrears.TSC emphasized that such misinformation could mislead teachers, so they must verify all salary-related updates through official channels.
The commission also reminded the public to avoid sharing unverified information on social media, which has been a key platform for the fake notice's spread. This incident highlights the need for vigilance against misinformation, especially regarding financial matters affecting public servants.
