The City of Tshwane has suspended its city manager, Johann Mettler, and initiated disciplinary proceedings against CFO Gareth Mnisi following a forensic investigation.

Council executive mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya announced the decisions, citing allegations of misconduct, including Mnisi's failure to declare directorships and his ties to a construction company involved in municipal tenders.Mettler's suspension is linked to issues like the Hammanskraal water crisis, infrastructure failures, and governance concerns.The council emphasized that administrative stability remains intact, with a focus on maintaining services and financial integrity.

The actions follow a review of the Local Government: Disciplinary Regulations for Senior Managers, 2010, and reflect ongoing efforts to address maladministration and ensure accountability.

Moya assured residents and stakeholders that city operations continue uninterrupted, highlighting the importance of transparent governance and effective leadership.
