Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew faces legal action over alleged fake agency and budget fraud
Two brothers, Cypril Nwalaezi and Smart Nwalaezi, were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Port Harcourt for alleged land fraud.The case involves charges of conspiracy and obtaining money through false pretenses, with the duo accused of defrauding Mr.Franklin Nwachukwu by selling land they did not own.The brothers were charged with selling two parcels of land in Etche Local Government Area, totaling N3,200,000.During the court proceedings, both pleaded not guilty, and the prosecution requested their remand in custody.However, the court granted bail to both defendants with conditions, including a surety and residency requirements.The trial was adjourned to September 17, 2026.The case was initiated after the victim discovered the properties had been resold by the defendants.The EFCC investigation revealed the brothers conspired to resell the land for profit.The case highlights issues of property fraud and legal accountability in Nigeria.
