The death toll from Super Typhoon Inday has risen to 26, with at least 14 people still missing, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The disaster struck multiple regions, causing casualties distributed as follows: 10 in Region III, 5 in Region IV-A, 3 in Region VI, 2 in Region XI, and 1 each in Regions II, V, VII, and VIII.Over 40,000 families were displaced, with emergency shelters accommodating thousands.The NDRRMC reported that more than 6,000 relief goods were distributed to affected areas, including rice, noodles, canned goods, and hygiene kits.Evacuation centers in Cebu City, Davao City, and other urban areas provided temporary shelter for displaced residents.Officials emphasized the need for continued aid distribution and infrastructure repair as recovery efforts progress.

The typhoon, which made landfall with winds reaching 150 km/h, caused widespread flooding, landslides, and damage to agricultural crops, particularly in mountainous regions.Local governments are coordinating with national agencies to assess damages and prioritize rescue operations.

Community volunteers and disaster response teams have been actively involved in search-and-rescue missions, especially in remote areas where communication was disrupted.
