DepEd Audit Reveals Insufficient Security Measures in Public Schools
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that over 500 people were stranded in various ports across the country on July 10, 2026, due to the severe weather conditions caused by Typhoon Inday.The incident affected multiple regions, including Northern Luzon, Southern Tagalog, Southern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Western Visayas.
Among the stranded individuals were passengers, truck drivers, and cargo helpers, while 205 rolling cargoes, nine vessels, and 30 motorbancas were also impacted.The PCG noted that 280 passengers and 23 rolling cargoes were stranded in Southern Tagalog, with 111 vessels and 118 motorbancas taking shelter.In Northern Luzon, 19 vessels sought refuge, while in Southern Visayas, one vessel took shelter near Maria.Central Visayas saw 95 passengers, 103 rolling cargoes, and seven vessels stranded, with 20 vessels and 17 motorbancas taking shelter.Western Visayas reported 87 passengers, 61 rolling cargoes, and one vessel stranded, alongside one vessel and two motorbancas taking shelter.
The affected ports included Real Port, Jomalig Port, Dinahican Port, Panukulan Port, Lucena Port, Alabat Roxas Port, Pola Port, Romblom Port, San Agustin Port, Looc Port, Batangas Port, Bauan Port, Balayan Port, Tingloy Port, Anilao Port, Balanacan Port, In North Western Luzon, and several others in Visayas.The PCG emphasized the need for coordination with local authorities to ensure the safety and timely rescue of stranded individuals.
