A typhoon named Kiyapo, known internationally as Noul, along with the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, has caused significant damage and loss of life in the Philippines.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), three individuals were reported dead, with one person missing, primarily in the Davao Region and Soccsksargen.

Flooding in Allacapan, Cagayan, and other areas has displaced thousands, affecting 41,382 families or 193,576 individuals across 258 barangays in seven regions.Over 2,359 families are currently staying in evacuation centers, while 235 houses have been damaged, with 158 partially and 77 totally destroyed.The typhoon, now monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, was last seen 815 kilometers west northwest of extreme northern Luzon.Authorities continue to assess the situation and provide aid to affected communities.The incident highlights the destructive power of natural disasters and the importance of disaster preparedness and response mechanisms.
