U.S. Official Allegedly Facilitated Visa for Polish Minister Facing Criminal Charges

A new report alleges that a U.S.official assisted Polish Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro in fleeing prosecution.Ziobro, a member of Poland's right-wing Law and Justice Party, faces over two dozen charges related to the alleged misuse of funds intended for crime victims. He initially fled to Hungary in 2025, where former Prime Minister Viktor Orban, supported by Trump, granted him asylum. After Orban lost the election in April 2026, Ziobro traveled to the U.S.in May.According to Reuters, U.S.

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau instructed senior State Department officials to facilitate and approve a visa for Ziobro just before the new Hungarian Prime Minister, Peter Magyar, took office and indicated plans to extradite him. This action has been described as unusual, given that Ziobro is wanted by a U.S.-allied government.Ziobro has also been criticized for judicial reforms in Poland between 2015 and 2023 that the European Union argued undermined the rule of law.Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that Poland would continue pursuing legal action to bring Ziobro to court. The report raises questions about U.S.foreign policy priorities and the support of conservative European politicians facing legal scrutiny.

So now we’re letting foreign politicians accused of serious crimes just waltz into the U.S.? Doesn’t matter if they’re conservative or not—this is exactly the kind of backroom nonsense that makes people distrust our government.
