Tanzanian businessman Rostam Azizi, set to become majority shareholder of Nation Media Group (NMG), met Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to address the shutdown of NMG Uganda's operations.The meeting follows government actions that halted printing of Daily Monitor and suspended NTV Uganda, Spark TV, KFM, and Dembe FM.

Security agencies, including Uganda People's Defence Forces and Criminal Investigations Directorate, conducted an investigation ordered by Museveni.Azizi was accompanied by Georgia Mutagaywa, Chief of Staff at Taarifa Limited, during the talks at State House, Entebbe.Earlier, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba held discussions with Azizi and company executives to assess media house editorial direction.The government cited security concerns as justification for the shutdown, emphasizing its role in safeguarding national interests.
