Prime Minister Andy Burnham has reaffirmed the UK's unwavering support for Ukraine ahead of a high-profile meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The visit, which marks Zelensky's first international engagement since assuming the role of prime minister, includes a tour of a naval base where Burnham will unveil the UK's 'Stone Cloak' electronic warfare system.

This technology, already deployed to Ukrainian forces, will be scaled up for mass production and integrated into the UK's next-generation long-range weapons, including Project Brakestop.

The collaboration underscores the deepening military partnership between the two nations, with Burnham emphasizing the UK's commitment to achieving a just peace for Ukraine.

The visit also involves meetings with over 200 Ukrainian military personnel participating in a maritime exercise in the UK, aimed at enhancing counter-mine capabilities in the Black Sea.

The UK has provided £25bn in funding since Russia's invasion four years ago, with Burnham's predecessor, Sir Keir Starmer, having previously pledged additional financial support.

Zelensky expressed confidence in the UK's continued solidarity despite potential political changes in Britain and France, highlighting the critical importance of maintaining strong bilateral relations.
