Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer received a personalised revolver with live ammunition as a gift from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the NATO summit in Ankara.The firearm, engraved with Starmer's name, was part of a series of similar gifts presented to leaders attending the event.Although the weapon remains in Turkey and will be decommissioned before its return to the UK, it is currently stored by British officials.Erdogan waived export controls on the gift, but importing live firearms into the UK is illegal.Downing Street has not released images of the revolver.During the summit, Starmer signed a defence agreement with Erdogan, enhancing intelligence sharing between the two nations.

Starmer emphasized that the NATO alliance emerged stronger and more united following the gathering, particularly amid ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Iran.This marks Starmer's final major international event before his resignation announcement last month.
