The Women and Children Protection Unit (WCPU) in Wao, Lanao del Sur, has officially opened, marking a significant step in addressing violence and trauma against women and children in the Bangsamoro region.

Established through collaboration between UNICEF, the Bangsamoro Health Ministry (MoH-BARMM), and local officials, the WCPU provides essential medical, psychosocial, and legal services to victims of violence, maltreatment, and armed conflicts.
