U.S. Issues Travel Advisories for Venezuela Following Earthquakes and Security Concerns
United Airlines has expanded its 'Twilight Bag Drop' program, allowing passengers to check their luggage a day early to reduce stress during busy travel periods. The initiative, initially tested at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport in March, enables select passengers departing before 10 a.m.to drop off their bags from 6 p.m.to 9 p.m.the night before their flight. The program, which saw positive feedback from participants, was officially launched over the Fourth of July weekend, a time of high travel volume.During this period, O’Hare and Chicago Midway airports handled an estimated 1.62 million passengers. The service allows travelers to drop off up to nine bags at once, streamlining the process for families or groups. While some users praised the convenience, others expressed concerns about the need to visit the airport twice.United Airlines plans to evaluate the program’s success and may expand it to additional hubs, including Guam International Airport.
Passengers eligible for the program receive an email with details the day before their flight, encouraging them to bypass the morning rush by handling luggage the night prior. The initiative reflects airlines’ efforts to improve customer experience amid increasing travel demands.
